Red Butte Garden

Red Butte Garden is the largest botanical garden in the Intermountain West and together with the University of Utah, is a state arboretum. The garden is located on the foothills on the Wasatch mountains, and has beautiful views overlooking the Salt Lake Valley and Great Salt Lake.

Things to know

  • Check if a summer concert is scheduled because it causes early closures
  • Closed on Thanksgiving and around the Christmas and New Years holidays
  • There is no direct public transportation to Red Butte Garden though there are options that will get you close to the Visitor Center and Amphitheater.
